  1. @pfefferle I accidentally stumbled on the problem. I tried to ping another site I run from node.lordmatt.co.uk. That too gave the same reply.

So I took a look at the backend of node.lordmatt.co.uk. That’s when I saw a notice about an expired anti-spam license. Disabled plugin. Everything works again.

I’d assumed it was WebMention as that’s where the error was. Only now do I recall that 500s were recently changed to 403s. 4.5 hours spent re-learning to look at the simple stuff first.

  2. In reply to: What’s your take on writing prompts? (A Question of The Week that I asked).
A writing prompt is a starting idea, question, or instruction designed to give you ideas to write about. You can find a large collection on The Muse of Last Resort if you are curious about writing prompts. What’s your take on writing prompts?, Question of the Week, OpenMentions.com
I love writing prompts. In principle at least. I find many are over-engineered and fail to spark anything in my imagination. That’s why I contribute to The Muse of Last Resort – I’m being the change I want to see. Feedback from my local writing group is that they have several short stories in the pipeline based on my prompts. There can be no higher compliment.
