  1. I think I was tired when I went to bed. I dreamed that I was going to bed in ā€œmy other bedā€. The pillows were not as good, and I thought to myself, I have new pillows on my other bed, and spares, I should use those next time.
In that reality, having multiple beds is, it seems, normal.

  2. Tonight I dreamed that I had to unite the humanoid races and the various factions to face the greatest threat the world had yet seen – all the calamity-level invaders at the same time. I’ve already been through this fight, which is why I know what is coming. I was the one who led the last charge. I saw everyone I care about die. A tiny fraction of the world’s population survived the last time. My mind has been sent back to try again.
This time, I will unite the races and the factions to face this looming threat. The two threats I am most worried about are a highly advanced robot race that adapts quickly and can change their form at will; and then there are the Genestealers leading the charge for the Tyranids (from Warhammer 40000, because sometimes my brain just steals threats from other media). That latter threat is much worse, because of course, it is.
I ride out (on a house) with a small group of allies to the green-skinned race. I use what limited smattering of their language I had picked up the first time and a translator to explain: Together we stand (hand wrapped around fist held high in front of me); separately we fall (fist held out to the side, opened and lowered to illustrate destruction).
With each race, I explain how the Genestealers and the rest will defeat them. Take over their bodies (I knew I was oversimplifying for time and effect) and make their mass part of the army.
I am visited by the wise ghost of a blue-skinned humanoid (standing upright) elephant. The teachings of this being will be vital in working with a fairly isolationist tribe of beings that look fairly human but taller, skinnier, and with longer faces with longer chins. Their chief is the oldest and wisest of them all.
By allowing my elephant mentor to possess me for a few moments, the ghost is able to greet the elder who hugs my glowing body and says, ā€œI have missed you, old friendā€.
That tribe recruited, we move on. But we are out of time. The Tyranid scouts have arrived. Three of us take refuge inside a room with a solid door in a run down partially ruined building. A part of the Genestealers’s clear is cut off by the door. It turns black and I start pounding in with a small hammer. Someone says, ā€œIf even a little of their DNA remains, it is a dangerous threatā€.
While this is going on, a powerful entity tries to push a magical plant under the door. Seeing it as a threat, I hammer that as well. She withdraws.
It then occurs to me that she must have taken care of the angry Genestealer. I rush out.
Our forces are arrayed against the robot army. One of their number changes itself to a pretty decent (but clearly artificial). They see our reaction and know that the curly-haired woman they showed us is still part of the force that will resist them. The tiny parts of the robot slide over each other as it resumes its preferred battle form.
There’s another robot that has had more time and stands with our forces facing 90° to the robot army, up the hill vs the Genestealer scouts.
The powerful entity, looking like a harmless old lady, offers this spy the plant and asks for the price, the (robot) woman says powerful magic and it about to be granted to the robot. If that happens, they will all have powerful magic. Magic is our only advantage against them.
I step in front of the entity. ā€œI’m the commander of this army, and I rescind the offer.ā€
    ā€œWhat do you offer?ā€
ā€œGive me the strength to fight these invaders.ā€
The entity parts my shoulders. ā€œYou are strong, but your frame could not hold all that. Ask for something else.ā€
ā€œThe wisdom and experience of a hundred years of war so I can lead my people to victory.ā€
ā€œThere will be a further cost for that. Your heart will grow cold, and joy will fade. You must say ā€˜I yield’ to take this price.ā€
ā€œI yield,ā€ I say. I start giving orders to the formations. I no longer feel any strong emotions. I’m calculating. I’m going to win even with this limited army.
We cut to a time after the battle. I’m seeking out a powerful leader of a human faction. They live in a massive old ruin that was once a research centre. The first time I recruited this leader, it was my bravado and fire that made him laugh and won him over. I don’t have that now, so I don’t know how this will go.
My allies and I are in the ruins, walking through a remarkably whole section. I have memories of being in this building when it was in full use as a child. Thus, I am able to find my way through the maze with relative ease. I don’t question the impossible memories.
We are treated by one of the high-ranking members of this faction. They will take us to the leader. I am tense about this encounter. I must use my memories of the past and future to negotiate a deal with him.
That is when I wake up, so I don’t know how the rest of the adventure went.

  3. I went for a midday nap and had a wild dream set in a totalitarian communist dictatorship. I was helping a woman whom I knew well (in the dream logic anyway) defect from the country. She was in a position of some influence and importance, and the party would notice the obvious deviation around the time we crossed into safety.
I had the driver take us to eat at a popular venue, which just so happened to be near the train station. She subtly acknowledged the cleverness of my idea.
Cut to us taking some impressively large and busy elevators, which will take us to the airport and freedom. I notice that members of the party are paying unusually close attention to us.
    I think we’ve been rumbled.
    We have to move quickly.
As we board an elevator, a random citizen steps up and approaches the party member with an inane and stupid question. That could have possibly cost them their life. They did it for us.
Then, half an hour before freedom, she bogs off to go and do something or talk to someone.
I’m furious. When I find her, I make a point of talking about the people who willingly gave up their lives to get her to freedom.
The rest of the dream involved my filling in the time by trying to return a suit I hired and, thus, be able to check out of the hotel so as not to rack up a huge bill (in a country I can never return to).
